HOP ON BOARD THE NEW TROLLEYS ROLLING THROUGH
THE FLORIDA STATE FAIRGROUNDS
Tampa, FL –- January 30, 2006 –- The Florida State Fair
Authority has announced a new addition to the 102nd Florida State
Fair that will make parking run very smooth this year. Patrons
will have the ability to take an air-conditioned or heated ride from
their parking spots to the Fairgrounds’- entrance
in one of the four new trolleys.
The new trolleys will be at the Fairgrounds year round, including
during the 102nd Florida State Fair. Each trolley can seat
up to 40 people with additional standing room for 20 people, making
a total capacity of 60 people. The trolley will make six stops
throughout the Fairgrounds. Each stop will be easily identifiable
with flag poles and rigid banners. The best part of the trolley
system is that it's free to all passengers.
The trolleys were purchased from Specialty Vehicles in Henderson,
Nev. In addition to the Florida State Fair, each unit will
be rented year round to organizations hosting events at the Fairgrounds
to provide convenient transportation to all guests.
These old-time trolleys are ADA certified and are fit with lush wooden
seats and paneling inside. In addition to the Fair's
additional 3,000 new FREE parking spaces located at the Martin Luther
King, Jr. Boulevard entrance, parking at the Fair is definitely worth
celebrating this year.
Fair gate admission tickets for adults (12+) are $6 in advance and $10 at the gate;
for children (6-11) they are $4 in advance and $5 at the gate; and children five
and under are admitted free to the Fair. Gate admission tickets are on sale now, without a service charge, at the Florida State Fairgrounds Box Office and at customer service counters at participating Publix Super Markets. Advance discounts and ticket sales at Publix are only through February 8. Gate prices go into effect once the Fair opens February 9. Parking
is free, sponsored by Olin Mott Tire Stores.
